Fort Pulaski National Monument Portrait Gallery (digital
slideshows)
Our national parks are wonderful places to experience our past
as well as the present natural beauty of our country. Fort Pulaski offers
a variety of activities for visitors of all ages. Living History
demonstrations are scheduled throughout the year and include: cannon
firing drills, musket drills, baseball games (a chance for visitor participation
is usually included, especially for children), group tours. In
addition, picnic areas and hiking trails allow visitors to see a variety of
plants and animals (deer, alligators, bird life and other wildlife.)
Notes about the images
-
This collection was created during 2006-2007 and covers several
special events with both Blue and Gray coat Living History
demonstrations.
-
This is a small sampling of the collection but should
provide an idea of what the visitor could experience on any given day.
I extend my thanks to the employees and volunteers who help make our
national parks such wonderful places to explore. For information on park hours and schedules visit
the Fort Pulaski web
site or for information on other public lands and parks visit the National
Park Service web site.
The galleries contain ~30-40 images per collection and grouped
(more or less) by activity types. I suggest that you use a cable or DSL connection to view them.
Please use the contact form below for feedback or to make an
inquiry about any of the images.
