Summer 2009 - Tybee Island was the location for the the new film, The Last Song,
Starring Miley Cyrus (Disney character Hannah Montana.) The movie is about a young woman re-connecting with her family, and of course, falling in love... The filming started in June 2009 and should be completed in mid-August of 2009 is scheduled for release in March of 2010. I have a number of Tybee Island image galleries, including photos near or at the areas of Tybee Island included in the filming of The Last Song - my images pre-date filming of the movie and continue to serve as a resource for visitors (new, media, or commercial film companies.

Common movie related tourist questions:
Where is the bench? - Answer: unknown or 'in storage'- reference to the bus stop park bench used in Forrest Gump (movie with Tom Hanks.) The street was shut down during the shooting of the movie and the bus that was seen in the movie traveled the wrong way on the street.
Where is the bird-girl statue? - Answer: It is housed in the Telfair Museum (picture below, right - bird-girl image is also present.) This is a direct reference to the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.
Where is Bonaventure Cemetery? - Answer: Bonaventure Cemetery (picture below, left) is located in Thunderbolt, Ga (along the ICW - Intra-coastal waterway.)
